Brief Answer:
Can be muscle spasm or osteoporosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The soreness of the bones that you are feeling can be due to muscle spasm or osteoporotic changes in the bones. This can be relieved by taking rest, mild pain killers, oral muscle relaxants and calcium supplements. Doing a hot compress and application of local analgesic gel will also help.
I hope this answers your query.

How can osteoporosis be confirmed?
The pain is both sides. Is this consistent with osteoporosis?
Will calcium and/or vitamin D be of any help?

Brief Answer:
Bone mneral density test will help in diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Osteoporosis can be diagnosed by getting your bone mineral density checked. Taking calcium and vitamin D supplements will retard further progression of the problem. Osteoporosis caused generalized bone and muscle pain.
