What Causes Sore Throat With Sore Bumps On Top Of My Mouth?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Mar 2015
Question: Sore throat with sore bumps on top of my mouth. They aren't "sores" and are not open but feel more like little cysts. This has happened before and it lasts a few days and goes away. It's accompanied by a bit of stuffiness and some congestion in the nose but not too much of that. Congestion is mostly at night and in the morning. No fever. Feeling ok otherwise. No white bumps in throat. Just a sore throat and these swollen cyst-like things in the roof of my mouth.

Brief Answer:
possible viral soreness; a picture is needed...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your question carefully and understood your concerns.

The sore throat associated with cysts in the roof of your mouth are possibly due to viral infection. However, I need to have a picture for a more specific answer.

If I was your caring doctor would advise to :
- keep a good hygiene of your mouth
- gargle with warm water and salt
- take oral pastilles or spray containing benzocaine to relieve the soreness

Looking forward to have the requested photo in.

Brief Answer:
Not good to see, molars as bad to see a dentist

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Thank you for providing the photos. Unfortunately, I was not able to see anything. Instead, I noted as following :
- your throat was a bit inflamed
- your last molars were really in a bad condition and you need to see a denist for this.

For the moment, my advice is as given earlier.

All the best!

My molars in the back have silver fillings in them - that is what you see. I visit the dentist regularly.

Brief Answer:
Photos with not a good resolution for specic determinaton...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back my dear,

Unfortunately, the resolution was not good enough even to find the cysts you referred earlier.

I am happy to hear that you visit dentist on regular basis.

If the sore throat won't improve within a few days, then, should consult with ENT specialist for further evaluations!

Hope the other advice was helpful!
