Brief Answer:
Ganglion cyst, Lipoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

According to the history you have provided, it's possibly a soft tissue lesion involving the tendon sheath of your fingers called a Ganglion cyst which contains fluid. This develops for non - specific reasons, sometimes due to overuse or arthritis of the wrist joint. The other possibility could be soft tissue benign lesson like Lipoma which is just a collection of fat.

Usually these lesions are not treated surgically unless they cause you trouble in your activities of daily living or for cosmetic reasons. There are procedures like threading of the cyst excision of the cyst to treat a Ganglion cyst. Lipoma can be excised or twice surgically as well.

It is always important to confirm the diagnosis of the swelling before attempting any treatment hence it would be wise to consult your Orthopaedic surgeon for proper clinical examination and necessary investigations like ultrasound of the swelling to help make the right diagnosis and then decide treatment accordingly.

You can apply ice to it if it hurts on wrist movement. Pain killers can also be taken if you have considerable pain.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
