Brief Answer: Hi and welcome to HCM Detailed Answer: Thanks for the query. It doesnt mean anything since we coomonly see that sometimes it is difficult to take blood samples even in compeltely healthy people. Rarely it can be seen in patient with polycitemia and other myleoproloferative diseases, but if his blood finding(hematocrit and hemoglobin,RBC,wbc) were fine then these disorders are ruled out. Nurse probably meant that he shuold drink to make blood "thinner",but this is not necessary. he should drink as usual. Just measure his BP form time to time and have blood tests once a year. Wish you good health. Regards

Brief Answer: hi Detailed Answer: This is not usual, but also it isnt indicating anything serious. It can be seen in puberty and in people under emotional stress. Most commonly this is caused by IBD, but gastritis and food allergies can be considered as well. He should eat smaller meals but more frequently (6-7)times per day and take more liquids. Also, his diet should include high fibre food, fruit, vegetables and boiled food. There are certain medicines which can help but it should not be used in early phase. He should try with dietary changes first.
