What Causes Slight Pain While Urinating?

default
Posted on Tue, 8 Dec 2015
Question: I have corresponded with Dr Manget regarding slight pain while urinating. The pain now seems to occur only after I workout and use the Sauna. I do use a recumbant bike and could the pressure from the seat irritate my prostate or could this be a kidney issue.

Brief Answer:
Sitting and riding on bike does not cause pressure on prostate .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have pain while urinating due to Chronic Prostatitis

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Have you done tests suggested by my colleague Dr.Manget in his earlier post ?.
2) Do you have other urinary symptoms like frequency for urination ,nocturia.urgency etc suggestive of enlarged Prostate which is common at this age .?

Chronic prostatitis can not be due to irritation of prostate due to sitting and riding on bike .Neither it could be due to any kidney problem .Any probleem due to kidney will be presented with symptoms like UTI,pain in loin, hematuria etc and can be easily detected in routine urine and blood test.

You need to get these test done to confirm the diagnosis .

Taking long term antibiotics like Bactrim DS with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac will help to resolve the issue .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Dr XXXXXXX I do not have frequent urination. My last Urology exam, about 18 months ago was normal, although one of my CT scans about the same time indicated an enlarged prostate. My Urologist said that was normal for my age. I am scheduled for more lab work before the end of the year. At this time, my slight pain during urination appears only after I exercise and use the Sauna.
