What Causes Slight Pain In My Left Breast?

default
Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2015
Question: I seem to have slight pain in my left breast. This is not all the time, sometimes a few days in between. It is more like a sensation that a young girl might have at puberty. My sister is dealing with endometrial cancer, and my symptoms have me really frightened. I am sixty years old and am in excellent health otherwise. Do you think I should be very worried? I have an appointment tomorrow. YYYY@YYYY

Brief Answer:
detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
I am sorry about your sister.I hope she will win this fight and have a long life.

Breast pain is a very common symptom among women and this continue even in menopause. Most common cause is hormonal changes in menopause.Anxiety is a common cause for such pain.

Pain is not a symptom of a serious breast disease like breast cancer.
If there is no palpable lump in your breast ,then you don't need to worry.A detailed physical examination of breasts , muscle ,both axillae is necessary to exclude any objective change.
If the physical examination is normal ,the you have nothing to worry about.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you need further help.

Kind regards,
Dr.Rovena Murati
