What Causes Skin Infection Around Lips Of An Infant?

Question: Hi,
My son is of 8 months old and he is suffering from skin infection on nose,arround lips. and looks like it is increasing ,what we observe that similar kind of infection happened with my neighbourhood child which use to play with my child daily,i suspect same infection happened with my baby,,
have not cansaulted yet with any doctor,so please suggest if any medication.

Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
I have seen the image you sent.
It looks like staphylococcus skin infection.
It is a bacterial infection of skin called impetigo.
Yes it spreads with contact, must have spread from your neighbours child.
I would recommend FUSIDIC ointment to be applied twice daily.
The usual course recommended is for 10 days.
If lesions do not improve your child may need additional oral antibiotics like amoxicillin.

Ensure frequent face wash with soap and water.

Wishing your child good health and speedy recovery.

also one my neighbourhood child has been given treatment for amoxicillin and recovered very fast, PFA attached pic for medicine details..do you suggest same one ?

I usually prescribe 5ml twice daily for 5 days.
