Brief Answer:
Indentation can be due to haematoma.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Indentation in shin can be due to haematoma.
Do you had any trauma or injury. ?
Foot swelling can be due to strain or sprain. But better to rule out fracture if you have severe pain and restrictions in movement. Other wise you can do ice pack application. Ice pack can be applied on and off for 15 to 20 minutes. This can be repeated 3 to 4 times daily. You can also apply a crepe bandage. For pain and inflammation you can take over the counter NSAIDs like ibuprofen ( motrin ).

Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
