What Causes Short Naps And Dark Circles In Infants?

Question: Hello Doctor.

Thank you for your earlier consultations. I have two queries about my 7 month old baby.

1. She is very reluctant to sleep these days. I can see that she is sleepy but she will throw tantrums and cry If we try to put her to sleep. In a day, she sleeps upto 12 hours maximum (with 8-9 hours in the night). She is developing dark circles under her eyes. Can the dark circles be due to sleep deprivation? Can we do anything for these problems?

2. Recently there is an onset of swine flu in the city. We have given her the flu vaccine "VAXIGRIP" two times (November and December 2014). Is this vaccination cover swine flu/H1N1? Otherwise, would you recommend some other vaccination and can we give it to her?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
details are as follows

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
1. As the age advances the sleep becomes less and baby turns more active, it is good sign of overall development. No need to worry about that.
Dark circles may be normal, as the the weight is very good (discussed in previous quries), no need to worry.
2. Coming to your second query, H1N1 is covered in vaxigrip so no need to go for another vaccine.

Sorry for late reply, im on kerla tour, so could not reply in time.
Hope i helped you.
