Question: my boyfriend is having this problem. not quite sharp pain in lower abdominal region towards upper left part of groin. hurts to cough and sneeze.

Hi XXXX. Thanks for the question. The complaints that you express could be due to an inguinal hernia evolving on that side. It is a fairly common problem. I suggest you get a consultation with your Doctor or GP as it can be diagnosed only by examination. Get that done and then let me know. We can then suggest what treatment should be done once it is confirmed. Do not worry it is fairly common and can be treated fairly easily. And it might not come out to be hernia on examination. In that case I would advice you an Ultrasound of Abdomen and Pelvis to look for other causes of the pain. Take care and do let me know if I can help you with other queries.
