Brief Answer:
Tendon inflammation at wrist

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.

1. Acute pain appears to be due to tendon inflammation called as dequervains tenosynovitis.
2. Pain should be more with thumb. No numbness should be there.
3. Excessive thumb activity causes this.
4. Complete Immobilization of thumb and also wrist is necessary. Along with it, ibuprofen for pain can be taken.
5. Apply ice pack over wrist.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.

Surgeon or orthopedic surgeon

Hi,
Thanks for asking again.

If the pain does not subside with painkillers and immobilization, and if there is any increasing swelling in wrist, you will need to meet an orthopedic surgeon.

Hope it helps.
