Brief Answer:
can be due to ureteric stone or ovarian cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

That sharp pain which is waking you up in the night can be either due to a ureteric calculi or an ovarian cyst. If the pain is very intense, I suggest you to visit the ER. The doctor would order for an ultrasound examination of abdomen and pelvis to rule out the same.

If the pain has reduced, then drink plenty of fluids and visit your local physician.

Hope i have been helpful.
