Brief Answer:
Rib nerve pain is most probable.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Does this pain radiate to the arm or jaw? Do you have any shortness of breath? Does the pain get more intense when taking a deep breath? Do you have any heart problems or spine problems?

Sharp chest pain is usually caused by rib nerve issue. Such pain is well localized, gets stronger when taking a breath and can disappear when not moving the chest. The reasons of such problem might be spine disc problem, nerve inflammation, ions deficiency (Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium).

Left side chest pain should be always checked with possible heart problem. Heart pain is usually burning or squeezing. It radiates to the left arm or jaw. Shortness of breath, sweating can be also present. It is usually associated with physical activity.

I suggest you to try some anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprophen or Diclophenac and Magnessium with Potassium supplementation. If this wont help, you should consult orthopedist and consider spine MRI.

If the heart issue is possible, you should have heart ECG done quite soon and consult cardiologist.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.

Regards.
