The symptoms you are experiencing are most probably due to rib sprain Which is caused by costovertebral or costochondral joints inflammation. This condition usually presents with painful breathing and movements together with pain at the area of the joints affected.

It usually resolves but will take about 6-7 weeks to be completely relieved. But first, an X-ray chest should be done to rule out any fractures. It should be treated with an anti-inflammatory eg.
