Posted on Mon, 8 May 2017
Question: I was treated with seed injections (prostrate) about 50 some 8-10 years ago. Is there any way for me to gain the hard a penis again ? I seem to have the ability to get an erection but it fizzes immediately. Got any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Vacuum pump, oral and injecting drugs..

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

You report to have undergone seed implants (brachytherapy) 8-9 years ago.
This procedure is done in patients with prostate cancer especially if early stage carcinoma. Can you please confirm this was your diagnosis?

Next, sexual dysfunction is often following the brachytherapy. It's good you can get an erection, but your problem now is that you can't make it last longer.

There are some solutions to this problem. One is vacuum pump: it can help achieve an erection, while the plastic band will help last it longer.

While, other options include some oral drugs that can increase blood flow in penis and help keep a longer erection. Another option is by injecting these drugs at the side of penis (as directed).
These drugs include tadalafil, sildenafil, etc.

Can discuss these options with your urologist to decide the best option for you.

Should make sure blood is not flowing away from penis.

Hope this helps.

I do not have very much feeling ( nerve) in the head, I guess this is normal and in fact there is nothing satisfying about a hand job, Do you think that will ever change? My wife & I haven't had sex for about 7-8 years but now she is gone ,(since the implant) Will that pump work? or should I just forget it? I'm 83

Brief Answer:
The pump will work but learn the instructions well first...

Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXX,

In fact, the seed implant as in your case, is often associated with erectile dysfunction although they are less as compared to other procedures.
Your age should also be taken into account.

The pump will work hopefully as there are other patients that have used it successfully. However, I highly recommend to follow the instructions as given by your urologist and make sure blood is not flowing outside penis as this will make the things worst.

Hope you'll have success with the pump.
