What Causes Severe Stomach Pain, Vomiting, Fatigue, Migraine And Imbalance?

default
Posted on Fri, 13 Jan 2017
Question: I have frequent severe stomach pain with vomiting that can last 24 hours, followed by severe fatigue and balance problems. I have a history of seizure (temporal lobe) and possible migraines with aura, none recently that I know of. My gastroenterologist, after many tests, says I may have abdominal migraine. What is this and how does it occur? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
A rare condition where other causes of symptoms are excluded.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Abdominal migraine is a very rare condition in adults, and is referred to a condition that causes symptoms similar to yours when other serious pathological conditions are excluded.

It is a difficult condition to be diagnosed and response to treatment with anti-migraine prophylactic drugs such Pizotifen, Propranolol, Cyproheptadine is an important step in confirmation of this diagnosis.

It is necessary to discuss with your Neurologist about this condition and starting of prophylactic treatment with one of the above mentioned drugs.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Greetings.
