Brief Answer:
Food poisoning or a viral Gastrointestinal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

What your son has may be a reaction of the stomach from the unhealthy food he is eating or can be also a viral infection. In general it goes with one day of vimiting and then continues with diarrhea.
His liver may have problems because of obesity but these symptoms are not related.
It is very important these days that he drinks plenty of fluids/water, more then 3 liters/day, small amounts but often.
Also you can give him a ppi like Omeprazole 20 mg once/day to relive his stomach pain.
If he starts having diarrhea it is recommended to use a diet with rice, banana, apple and toast. Avoid milk.
If you see blood or mucus in the stool, or if he has fever, then you should consult a doctor because he will need antibiotics.
Do an abdominal ultrasound to check if the liver is not enlarged and also the liver function tests to check the function of liver.

Hope this is helpful.
