What Causes Severe Pressure In The Left Chest Area While On BP Medication?

default
Posted on Mon, 18 Sep 2017
Question: Hello Doctor. I am a 40 year old male and consider myself to be in pretty good shape. I drink alcohol in moderation and do not smoke. I currently take Mycardis for blood pressure. My question is I occasionally get pain/feeling of pressure in my chest, specifically to the left of my left nipple area or directly in the middle above my sternum. Also if I stand still for 30 seconds or longer I experience what feels like something "sticking" or "ticking" on the upper left side of my chest wall. Lastly, while I have not been diagnosed with anxiety, I constantly bounce one of my legs to the point that my calf muscles get extremely sore. Any ideas what could be going on? Thank you

Brief Answer:
do some tests

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM

I can understand your concern

As you explain the history if you were my patient i would recommend you to do an ECG to be sure for any cardiac new problem and if this is negative than a chest x Ray for your lungs examination is needed.

If the chest X Ray comes negative too than an ultrasound of the breast is needed.

If its negative too than nothing else to do ,your concern might be from muscle contraction.

Please do the above and you can also attach me the results and we will discuss again about it.

I hope this info is helpful for you
