Brief Answer:
More likely to be a problem with the stomach and lower esophagus.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Pain in the left chest after eating may be from the pancreas but it is more likely to be from the stomach. You may be getting acid refluxing a bit.

Consider taking Zantac (ranitidine) 150 mg twice a day. If your symptoms began in the past few days, 2 weeks of the medicine may do. If it has been going on longer, you may need to take the Zantac for 6 weeks. It is sold without prescription.

Until the symptoms resolve, consider reducing foods that can irritate it: coffee and other sources of caffeine, acidy foods such as citrus and tomatoes, and anything else that seems to make it worse.

Avoid lying down within a couple hours of eating.

Ibuprofen, naproxen, and other pain killers in it's class can also irritate the stomach. If using these, consider switching to acetaminophen, at least for several weeks.

If none of this helps, or if the pain gets worse, then do go in to see your doctor.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.
