What Causes Severe Pain In The Left Tricep?

Question: what would cause pain in the left tricept area, aching sometimes extreme pain, about midway between the shoulder and elbow. The pain has persisted for three weeks, in the first two weeks there was pain in the back of the neck also. There is a bump in the muscle area as well, the bump doesn't move. have been taking ibuprofen, but it only helps for a few hours. also I cannot lift anything over small objects with the left arm.
