What Causes Severe Pain In The Left Ankle?

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Nov 2017
Question: I have pretty moderate to severe pain in the area of my left ankle that radiates across half of my foot. I have had surgery in the past for DVT, but there is no heat associated with it, and no red streaking.

Brief Answer:
Can be DVT or tendonitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The severe pain in the ankle that you have can be due to DVT or achilles tendonitis or arthritis. Proper examination and investigations like X-ray and ultrasound scan are needed to find the cause. Till then you can keep the foot elevated and do a hot compress in the area and see if it helps.
I hope this answers your query.
