Question: I've been having this pain on my right side that shoots down my right side from my right lower back. the pain is tremendous. I can't sit, stand, or walk it hurts that bad. it feels like a cramp and fire shooting down my leg. I've already had the possibility of it being my kidneys or kidney stones. I have no history of back problems other than slipping a disk in my back. I'm currently taking pain meds, muscle relaxers, and meds for the cyonic pinched nerve that the dr. thinks it is, but these meds are not working pain is still overwhelming. I've never felt nor had pain like thus before. what do you think it could be.. I'm scheduled for an MRI, but it's a week away and this pain us killing me.

Brief Answer:
Nerve entrapment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Welcome to HCM
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.

The severe pain at the right lower back shooting down to the leg, unbearable as you have explained looks to be due to the trapped nerve and you have a history of slipped disc.

I would advise you the following:

Try to get an appointment at the earliest for the MRI to have the most clear picture.
Get an appointment with a Neurosurgeon.

Till then physiotherapy may help you the most.
Strict bed-rest otherwise.

Laxative to have soft motion.
Avoid temperature changes as it increases muscle spams.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
