Brief Answer:
Pain could be due to stone in ureter

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have UTI and has started taking antibiotic and now have severe pain in loin.

This could be mostly due to stone in lower ureter and needs to get evaluated.

If pain is severe go to ER and consult Urologist and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
2)Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis to rule out urinary stone.

In the mean while continue taking antibiotic along with anti spasmodic like Spamo Proxyvon and smooth muscle relaxant like Dratovarine twice daily.and switch on to appropriate antibiotics after getting urine culture report.

Further treatment will depend upon the final diagnosis.

Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Thank you for the details. The pain when urinating is more severe and the aches below the waist are more muscular. Could that still be a sign of stones or could muscle aches be more related to the infection. I just dont want to spend 5 hours in the ER if there are spefic things i should be looking for

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.
Presence of UTI with pain in waist i mostly due to stone and it has to be ruled out by doing Ultrasound scanning which you can get it done even without going to ER.

Inthe mean while continue taking antibiotics and pain killers.

I have a diagnosis of protatitis as of thursday. I was experiencing severe body aches from the hips down (muscular). I am taking cipro as a result. My body aches and low grade fever are still a huge issue. The aches have moved up to my solarplexes. Is this a normal course of recovery. As someone with a high tolerance for pain, im spending my 3rd day in bed. The pain while urinating is gone. But the flulike symptoms persist
