What Causes Severe Pain, Heaviness And Numbness In Legs And Right Thigh?

default

Question: Hi,
I have pain in my legs that gets worse when I've been laying down. I wake up in the morning after sleeping in a prone position (sometimes with my legs elevated because they hurt so much in my sleep) and my legs ache terribly. They feel very heavy when I wake up in the morning. I also have particularly bad pain in my right thigh that feels general - I can't pinpoint the exact spot but it aches terribly--especially after sitting for a long time or laying down. I also tend to have a lot of numbness in my feet if I stand for a long period of time. Are these things interconnected? My doctor tested my feet and when she touched the various areas of my feet in her office I could feel her touch with no problem. But after standing for a long time I am in pain from my feet falling asleep. Are these items all part of one condition or ...? She really had no idea what it was. I appreciate your help.

Brief Answer:
Slip disc, hip arthritis

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

Do you have low back pain that radiates to the lower limbs?

If it's possible you have Sciatica such could have arisen from a slip disc.

Avoid bending forwards or lifting weights.

It is also possible that it could be hip arthritis.

An Xray of the hip and lumbosacral spine would be helpful. Also an MRI of the lumbosacral spine will help.

You can take Tablet Paracetamol with Tramadol combination for the pain relief, which is also safe on the stomach.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

I have had sciatica before and it doesn't feel like that I've also had an MRI that does not reveal a slipped disc and my back feels fine. The most disconcerting issue is the pain and heaviness in my legs when I wake up in the morning. Why do my legs hurt after sleeping when there is no weight on them? And my right upper thigh is what hurts the most.
