Brief Answer:
See a physician in person:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking!
I can understand your concern regarding to your mother's health.
The symptoms you reported are suggestive for deep vein trombosis, if the foot is red and swelling, an infection of the skin (erysipila) is also probable.
I would recommend to keep monitoring the blood sugar and see a physician as soon as possible.
The symptoms you reported should not be neglected.
Hope the information will help and wish her good health.
Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
