Posted on Thu, 14 Apr 2016
Question: yesterday i sat down to watch tv and my back started itching very badly. i look at it and there are tiny red dots on my skin. i woke up this morning and they don't really itch. just still there. they are on my chest and stomach and still on my back. I've never had any allergy's before in my life. i ate 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, couple cheese sticks and drank maybe 3 beers yesterday. the ones on my chest itch every now and then. i Google it and all that comes up is low paletes or something. so noe I'm here. thank you.

Brief Answer:
Either allergic reaction or pityrosporum folliculitis or miliaria

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcare magic

I have reviewed the attached photographs though they are not very clear.

Their are few possibilities looking at them : either an allergic reaction to anything you have eaten or pityrosporum folliculitis due to a yeast infection or miliaria which occurs due to sweat duct blockade in hot humid weather.

It is not due to low platelets. That has a different presentation.

In such cases I recommend my patients to take antihistaminic like tablet Chlorpheniramine 4 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching and apply cortisone cream on the affected areas for 5-7 days.

If these spots don't subside by then consult a doctor and get yourself examined clinically.
