What Causes Severe Headache That Increases After Coughing, Sneezing And Bending?

Question: Hi,
I woke up on Monday morning with a terrible headache. What made it worse is that when I coughed, sneezed or bent down it became more painful. I took complete rest that day and over the couple of days it has come down. But even today if I cough a little hard there is stabbing pain in my head which goes away after a while. What can be the reason for this? Is there any medication that I should try? Kindly help

Brief Answer:
Most probably cough triggering headache

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and the symptoms are suggestive of cough triggering headache. This is an uncommon cause of headache, however, it is not serious in most people.

Headaches may resolve on own. However, Indomethacin capsules may be used for relief of symptoms.

Best wishes,
