Question: Hi, I'm taking canesten for thrush and today, the third day of treatment I am experiencing bad cramps and a pink discharge

These symptoms you have mentioned are the side effects of treatment. You should report to your consultant for a proper clinical evaluation and change of medication, if needed. Most often, they subside spontaneously when the medication is stopped. If not they generally are managed easily.

Though not serious, these side effects can cause much discomfort and do need to be seen by a doctor. Abdominal bloating, nausea, vomiting, burning, itching, rash, swelling and redness of the vulval region also can occur as side effects.
