Question: 3 years ago , I had unprotected oral sex . At that time I was teenager do not know about HIV and STD causes. And in last may 2016 and Aug 2016. , I had normal fully body massage, no sex activity involved. From last Oct 2016, these things scared me. And in Nov 5th 2016 I went for Elisa HIV 1 and 2 test and also for all STD test . All came negative. But little bit things scared in last oct 2016 ,might be due to anxiety these things scared me alot , I had sharp body pain all over body . And I went to our family homeopathic doctor , he told me I might have rhemotaroid arthritis and he gave me 15 days medicine and it also relieved me little bit. But my question is that is there any chance of false negative HIV result. I researched on internet that if person have rhemotaroid arthritis then you may also get false negative result . But I ate homeopathic medicine for 15-20 days. Please help me . I am not sexually active that was my last exposure 3 years ago. Also normal body massage can lead to hiv. Should I go for retest . I also went for blood test, urine test, uric acid test , lft test all are normal . Please give your advise on this .

Brief Answer:
Your test is reliable and conclusive

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us

I am Dr.Kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I've gone throguh your query and I have noted your concern.

A negative screening test for HIV antibodies with ELISA based test kit, 3 months (window period) after a risky sexual contact, is reliable. Therefore, your tests proves that you are safe.

A homepathic doctor is not the right person to diagnose rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Also, your symptoms don't suggest that you have RA.

Moreover, a negative screening test result for HIV with an ELISA based test kit would also hold true for an RA patient.

So, no need to worry. Forget about it and move on with your life happily.

Take Care
Regards

Brief Answer:
You are safe from STDs/HIV

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

No. Body massage does not pose any risk of transmission of HIV.
Your symptoms are more of dyspeptic in nature and may be due to anxiety. I suggest you to take a tablet of an antacid e.g Tab. Pantocid 40mg, twice daily (morning and evening), before meals. However, if the symptoms don't improve on this I would suggest you to see an anternal medicine specialist.
