Question: Hello,

My dad is around 67 years old. 2 days back, he got a stomach pain and had shortness of breath. He was sleeping at that time after dinner (time around 10 or 10:30 PM).

Could you please tell me what would be the reason ?

Brief Answer:
Get his cardiac evaluation.

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.

Such kind of abdominal pain and breathlessness could be a sign of Angina. Since he is hypertensive, his such symptoms should not be taken for granted.
He should be evaluated by ECG, TMT and ECHO.

If all reports come out to be normal, we can assume that the symptoms but just due to hyperacidity, but cardiac clearance is must.

This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.
