Detailed Answer:
Hi Dear ! Thank you for posting your question to HCM.
Salty taste in the mouth may be caused by dehydration or other conditions.
Please provide few specific information by answering the questions below , so that I can have a clear idea:

-Are you on any medications for any particular health concerns (especially for high blood pressure , antihistamines , decongestants or any others) ? In this case of the salty taste persist for a long time you can discuss with your treating doctor for possible dose/regimen changes .

- Dehydration ( check your tongue, is it dry all the time ? usually the tongue is smooth). In this case drink plenty of liquids (stay hydrated).
-Oral infections (teeth)

-Do you have acid reflux ( it presents like : burning sensation in your chest, the acid comes from the stomach )

-Post nasal drip i.e. what we call mucus from the nose run down on the back of the throat to the mouth, when you have a flu, allergy , sinusitis .

Drink plenty of water , brush teeth regularly, avoid spicy food .

Please let me know these details so that I can guide you further

Take Care !
