Question: I had a car accident and hit my head. I had minor cuts and bruises. 36 hours have passed and I have ringing in the ears and my head feels a little funny. I have not been vomiting or dizzy, etc. Am I in danger, or is there anything I should do?

Brief Answer: I think you need a CT scan Detailed Answer: Hello sir, Head injuries are dangerous and life threatening. Since you are already having hypertension so danger is little high in you. I would suggest you to meet a neurosurgeon and get CT scan of your brain. There can be minor contusion or bleeding. It will be diagnosed by CT scan. Till that time take special care of your BP. As high BP can cause bleeding in brain. Continue taking your heart medicines also. Avoid driving or going on high places alone as you may have dizziness. Next even days are crucial. Let me know if you want to know any thing else. Wish you a very good health. Thanks and take care.

If I do not get a cat scan, what is my danger? If these is a cat scan, what is the treatment. What do you mean by 'even' days?

Brief Answer: CT scan will be helpful. Detailed Answer: Hello, If you do not want to get CT scan, then you should keep a watch on following symptoms. 1. Vomiting 2. Giddiness 3. weakness in hand or feet 4. Sudden forgetfulness, confusion If we can get a CT scan and it shows that contusion is present in brain then Phenytoin tablet can be started to prevent any further damage. If CT scan is normal then you will feel mush relaxed. Sorry for typing mistake. I was saying that one weak /seven days are most crucial. Let me know if you have any other query. Feel free to ask any other followup questions. Thanks and take care.
