Question: Good Afternoon,
yesterday morning and then again this morning I woke up to my right arm feeling completely asleep I guess I slept on it wrong....rubbed the arm both morning for several minutes until the blood starting flowing and then got the tingling sensation that that would cause.
Now I'm at work and my hand and a little around my elbow are still feeling that tingling sensation...weird...should I be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Get examined for any danger signs

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome to HCM.

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Unilateral symptoms of tingling and weakness of sudden onset should be evaluated for stroke if it remains.

Another possibility of limb compression in sleep is usually confined to nerve distribution and do not involve whole hand.

Is there any risk factors for stroke like diabetes, hypertension or dyslipidemia, previous transient ischaemic attacks?

You can get examined by a doctor for any danger signs.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

So, Dr. XXXXXXX

You're saying I could have had a stroke or I'm going to have a stroke? No I don't have any of the risk factors you mentioned. Would there be any other symptoms beside my arm tingling?

Brief Answer:
Nothing serious, be vigilant

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I am sorry, I think you did not get me right.
In your case, the symptoms and features are more in favor limb compression / pinched nerve than stroke. However you should be vigilant to watch for worsening or any new development. Stroke evaluation is warranted if you doesn't get better soon or you have more symptoms.

Take anti vertigo medication as advised previously.
