Posted on Wed, 1 Jun 2016
Question: Male age 63 - can maintain erection and having small sensation of orgasm - but no semen. This just started happening past few weeks. Can there be an underlying health concern with this? I saw urologist one month ago for other bladder / kidney issues & have follow up next week.

Brief Answer:
It could be medication if you receive one

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

There are number of medications which can cause retrograde ejaculation. Flomax and other medications of its class causes retrograde ejaculation as side effect which means semen goes in the opposite direction and do not go through penis during ejaculation.

This is one of the common side effects and most patients recover well on discontinuation of flomax.

So this could be the one reason for not having semen discharge during orgasm.

If you do not receive any medication please revert back to me with available reports.

I hope this helps you.
Thanks and regards
