Question: Hello, I have redness and discoloration on my penis head and a small reddish circle on the underside of my penis near the head that look like a rash. Sharp pain and burning sensations shooting through my penis head. A white head bump that shows up twice a year. On my shaft. Also some sharp pains in the anal area but I don't have discharge on penis head and my urine doesn't hurt. No blisters or warts. Can you tell me what kind of infection this is? and how can I cure it from home?

Brief Answer:
balanitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
You would have posted the good quality photograph attached to this query.

If all such infections start getting cured home - wow, would have been great. And is one of the reasons of spread of STDs and its complications.

The redness and discoloration, redness and reddish circle on the underside are suggestive of balanitis and needs an active treatment. The sharp pains and burning sensations shooting through the penis head is suggestive of involvement of the cutaneous nerves.

Please explain the white head which shows twice a year.

The sharp pains in the anal area ( if without any skin changes ) can be due to associated prostitis although there is no discharge and no burning micturition.

To repeat this can be a balinitis and can be due to STD.
I think you need to be properly seen and physically examined by a Doctor and plan the treatment according to the visual based diagnosis and reports of the investigations...You will need an antibiotic and Metronidazole.

Till you see a Doctor, do not apply anything to the penis as this changes the character of the disease to make the diagnosis difficult.

Brief Answer:
Yes, it is.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the photo.
This is just balanitis.
Nothing much to worry about.
Do not use any chemical containing soaps or ointments.

Only thing you can apply is either liquid Povidone iodine or Metronidazole cream.
This should be OK. Keep the area clean with plain water and keep it dry.

Is there any history of unprotected sex?

I would advise you to undergo ultrasonography of abdomen, particularly for urinary system to see the status of prostate. I some cases of prostatitis one can get the pains as you have described.

Brief Answer:
Let ultrasonography be done.

Detailed Answer:
Yes you can.

Let us first see the status of prostate either on ultrasonography or by digital palpation by finger by a Doctor.

Prostatitis is a clinical judgement made by your history, a possibility.

What is your frequency of sex or masturbation?
Prostatic congestion is avoided by regularly emptying it , say 2 to 3 time in a week.
