What Causes Red And Brown Acne Spots On Face?

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Apr 2014
Question: hi.. I have little patch of freckles on one side of cheek and some red and brown acne spots all over face..some dermatologist suggested me to use Melanorm MS for one month and then switch over to mild cream 'Carofit Ultra'..When I was using Melanorm MS, my skin had turned awesome..acne had been vanished and there was no more patch of freckle..but since I have stopped using Melanorm MS and switched to Carofit Ultra, the patch of freckle had reappeared and I have noticed that there are some acne growing again..Please suggest me what should I do.. I can't use Melanorm MS again as I know it contains steroids..But I want that glowing clear skin back..please suggest me some permanent remedy..I have also heard that glycolic peel is good for getting rid of freckles and acne marks..but is it the only solution ..isn't there any good skin cream that can give me relief from the problem ,at least for time being..

Brief Answer: Self care & skin specialist's advice will help. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX, Thanks for the query. Skin of face is mirror of one's personality. No wonder you are tense.I understand your problem. - The rash you are describing can be of allergic/infective/fungal/acne origin. You do not itching so the fungal or allergic cause seems to be less possible. -Certain auto immune condition like SLE can be another possibility-which has a butterfly rash -your photos show that the rashes are all over the face, you do not have extreme fatigue, nor you have history of hair fall. So SLE also seems to be are remote possibility. - I feel the rash you have is mostly Pimple or Acne vulgaris as we call it,still I would advice you to consult a skin specialist to exclude above conditions . You will need local examination in detail along with few blood examinations for that. Hormonal imbalance needs to be excluded. - Coming to Acne- It is a condition due to excessive production ,clogging of pores pf oil secreting glands in skin -which in turn get swollen, inflamed to form a pimple. * mild pimples can be controlled by home care but when they are long standing/forming pustules they need a skin specialist's consultation. The management includes- Frequent washing of face to avoid collection of oil on face/clogging of pores, with soft soap/medicated soap & plenty of water( the skin flakes you have might be due to strong soaps, local medications). - Avoid oil based cosmetics, - use medicated spot treatment after wash-local vitamin E, antibiotic ointment.Local tea tree oil in diluted form ,aloevera gel for skin flakes will help. - Avoid fast food dairy products which raise you blood sugar to trigger pimples. _ Hormonal imbalance mast to be excluded , - avoid tension * Oral antibiotics,Vitamin A, are some additions as suggested by a doctor. * Multiple other treatments including Dermabrassion ,Light laser therapy, surgery may help ,if doctor feels needful * In short, a continuous vigilance & self care along with doctor's advice will definitely help you for getting rid of your problem &have a glowing skin. I feel you have sufficient information & useful tips through this answer. I am available for any follow up query. Thanks.

So shall I stop using Melanorm MS and carofit ultra..It's like the place I live in,there's no good dermatologist..so it will take me sometime to go out of town to consult a good dermatologist..so I want relief from these marks for 2-3 months till I don't go out of town for the treatment of my skin..that's why I have been using these creams for last 2 months..Should I use them for some more time ( say for 2 more months) ??

Brief Answer: Continue with care, earliest consultation. Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX, Thanks for query. Non availability of good skin specialist & need to maintain good skin till you can reach one, is your problem. In this respect I would suggest following things- - As you may be aware, application of steroidal ointment for a long time has possibility of absorption of the drug through skin & may lead to its side effects that are why your doctor advocated a month’s use of Melanorm MS ointment. *In case you have to continue with the ointment for a couple of month’s more-it can be done with few cares & to be guard for appearance of its side effects. _ Side effects you should look for are, -.Skin getting dry/irritable/red/scaly/easily bruising, -.blood containing blisters on skin, .- Infection of skin/other recurrent infections in body (due to reduced resistance/weakness), -.Increased irritability, raised B.P., irregular heart beats -. Irregular menses, -. Rounding of face. - Majors for care to be taken I suggest are- - Dilute the ointment with non oily moisturizer-mixed with the ointment/alternate applications as suitable to you. ) - Protection from sun rays-by suitable sun screen/wearing face mask/use of umbrella/ avoiding outdoors between 10 am. & 4 pm.should be followed - Do practice frequent washes of face with mild soap that suits you. - Eat Healthy diet with fruits, vegetables, whole grams, pulses, enriched by Vitamin C,A, E ,B complex( citrus fruits, sprouts, honey) - Be away from stress- - start Deep breathing exercises, mind concentration by meditation to gain positivity. * In the end try to see the doctor of your choice as early as possible for getting specific advice. I am sure you have received proper advice through this answer. I wish you all the best, for a full recovery for healthy skin. Any more information you need, I will be happy to answer. If you are satisfied with the answer, please grade it. Thank you. .
