What Causes Recurring Dark Red Spots Appearing On Forearms?

default
Posted on Tue, 9 Sep 2014
Question: I am having recurring episodes of dark red spots appearing on both my forearms. They do not itch and are not raised. After several days they fade away. I thought I was having a reaction to Bactris and/or Cipro but have been off those for about two months. My med list is extensive. I am 68 white male w/ Crohn's and Stage III kidney disfunction.

Brief Answer:
Due to renal disease.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that these seem to be purpuric spots to me which gradually fade away . Since you have renal disease these spots are very common in them . I think you should check your bleeding time , clotting time , PT, INR .
As in kidney dysfunction these parameters get deranged and lead to minor bleeding spots under the skin .

Take care.

Dr. Shruti
