What Causes Recurrent Uveitis In Both Eyes?

default
Posted on Sat, 11 Jul 2015
Question: been feeling ill for a very long time. recurrent anterior uveitis both eyes. systemic symptoms worsening- drenching night sweats, confusion, body pain, upper left abdominal pain just under ribs, stumbling, dizziness, buzzing tingling, fatigue, excessively dropping things, mri clear but for a small amount of sinus buildup in right sinus. have been on Keflex 500mgx3 per day for last few weeks. sinuses feel pretty good, but general feeling of illness persists and seems to worsen at times. intermittent low grade fever. 4 weeks ago ~may 18th blood work and mri (as previous stated) were done. blood work good, wbc 8.3 no diff, abnormal results were high lysozyme level, high c4 complement, and raji cell assay. rheum said not indicative of sle or other autoimmune because complement levels are low in those. tested for Wegener's, negative. still not feeling good, I asked for another cbc but I wanted with diff this time even in wbc was fine, I wanted to see what the specifics were. I also wanted an EBV panel. I was worried that what I have might be a complication of a sever IM I had as a teen. blood results 6/19 were wbc 11.3 slightly high, lymphs absolute high, hemoglobin high, hematocrit high. ebv results are ebv ab vca IgM <36, ebv ea ab, IgG <9, ebv ab vca IgG high 283.0, ebv na ab, IgG high 258.
I interpret the ebv results to just be evidence of my past mono...am I missing anything else?

Brief Answer:
I think you have been evaluated thoroughly.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into the details, I think you have been evaluated thoroughly . But since you had recurrent uveitis I would suggest getting HLA B27 testing done as reactive arthritis and its associated classes can also have similar presentation . Also your EBV IgM is not raised which signifies that there is no recent infection . But still if you have doubt you can go for EBV DNA - PCR. Discuss about the two test with your doctor.

If possible, please send me your ANA , ENA , XXXXXXX reports if they are done. And let me know if you have other questions.

Take care.

Dr. Shruti
