What Causes Recurrent Sore Throat, Fatigue And Discoloration On The Tongue?

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Jun 2016
Question: Hello, Ive had a reoccurring sore throat which was really bad last week, especially at night. My tongue also seemed discolored but seems a little better now. Also I had extreme fatigue last week. As of yesterday I've been feeling a lot better though, my energy is back, sore throat is much better but comes and goes throughout the day. It has been very hard to see a doctor as I don't have a primary care. I'm curious if you can tell from the pictures if if my condition is serious or its just an infection that will heal with time.

Brief Answer:
Road to recovery, nothing serious at all in my opinion sir

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. The first two attached images provided no information at all, but the last one was quite helpful.

Your tonsils seem to be almost back to normal, there is a little swelling and redness still but thats nothing to worry about and should resolve soon. I do not think you even need a doctors consultation at this point and I would only recommend the following:

+Drink plenty of fluids (hydration seems a little low, thats all)
+Lukewarm liquids (e.g. soups, porridge, etc.)
+Stick to a liquid or semi-solid diet for a few more days
+Avoid spicy, fried, fatty, oily and spicy food for a while
+Try to purchase an oral cleansing solution (E.g. Betadine mouth wash) and use at least 2-3 times daily

Nothing more is really required, and I am sure it is only uphill from here sir. Wishing you a rapid and complete recovery.

I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
