What Causes Recurrent Rash On Shaft Of Penis?

default
Posted on Thu, 26 Feb 2015
Question: yes, i have a rash on the shaft of my penis and it has come and gone for the past few months. It was never a blister and never pain urinating or any discharge. I tried putting a anti bacterial cream and its seem to have gotten a little worse. I am obviously a little nervous, but if it was herpes wouldn't i have blisters discharge and pain in urination? I have had prostatitis in the past and i have been on 1cc of tester one therapy injection per week

Brief Answer:
Penile recurrent rash without vesicles or ulcer is unlikely to be STD.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

Recurrent rash over the shaft of penis without vesicles or ulcers are unlikely to be due to Genital Herpes. As you don't have any pain or discharge it is unlikely to be due to STD or prostatitis.

A non-venereal skin conditions like Psoriasis or lichen planus can be suspected.
Consult a Dermatologist. A careful examination, if necessary with some investigations we can rule out STDs and fix the diagnosis. Treatment can be planned accordingly.
