Question: My husband has multiple rib fractures from a fall two weeks ago. Today he has some rectal bleeding which he has never had before. Could this be a result of the fall and should he be concerned?

Brief Answer:
Monitor the bleed to see if it continues!!!!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these fractures and this reported bleeding. The rectal bleeding is unlikely related to this. If he has hard stools(use of Co-codamol) and any pains in the anal area, then it is most likely related to this. If there are none of this, I Will suggest that you monitor only and see if this continues. It is my believe that this will most likely resolve spontaneously without need for any specific medical intervention. For now, monitor only and provide me with details. Also, increased his fluids, vegetables and fruits intake.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be. Above all, thanks for using our services.
