Question: Hi,

Have you ever seen a bacterial infection, perhaps from south east asia, that presents with rash, around penis, anus, hair, behind ears and on chest.. that loks like psoriasis and may cause bad arthritic involvement.

My wide and now my dog have both got arthritus and my wife has the same rash... I know its best served to see an infectious disease person, but we kept getting told its psoriasis, or lichen something - but its odd that we are both having the same epxerience, all be it that she is catching up to me - both have high urate, both have a rash, both have sore chest and bowel - i was just wondering if anyhting esle could be doing this?

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

I have gone through your query. I would prefer if you can upload a few digital photographs of the affected area/rash so that I am able to guide you better.

Reiter's syndrome could be a possibility, specially if we consider the whole gamut of symptoms. Reiter's syndrome is a reactive arthritis involving the large joints like knee, sacroiliac joint.
The syndrome may be triggered by genitourinary (chlamydia and neisseria) or gastrointestinal infections (salmonella, shigella, campylobacter).
The skin lesions resemble psoriasis and may involve the palms, soles as well as the trunk (keratoderma blennorrhagicum)

Provide me more information regarding the query
-Which all joints are involved?
-How long standing is the problem?

Regards
