Brief Answer:
Muscle strain, analgesic and muscle strain

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
I would like to know since when you have this problem?
Is there any history of injury?

Based on the information, the most probable cause is neck muscle strain.
You should take NSAID like aceclofenac with muscle relaxants like chlorzoxazone/ tizanidine twice daily for 3-5 days based on the responce. You can ask your local doctor for prescription of this agent. Along with this hot compression and analgesic gel or spray will be beneficial. This will help you.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you. Please accept my answer in case you do not have further queries.
Take care.

The problem started five days ago and there was no strain that I am aware of, the neck pain has lessened somewhat but has now spread across the back of my head. I own a restaurant and convenience store and have had more than normal stress for about a week. I normally handle stress very well but could this be part of the cause?
