What Causes Radiating Pain In Right Lower Back?

default
Posted on Thu, 14 Jan 2016
Question: I have had lower back pain for a week or so (mostly on the right side) that doesn't feel like a pulled muscle but feels like something is 'wrong' on the inside. It's mostly on the right side but does radiate back and forth. I don't believe it's a kidney infection -- I've had those before -- and it's feeling a little scary. What are your thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Muscle spasm or UTI. Needs evaluation

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Back pain with radiation to back and forth only one sided, with prior history of renal infections and UTIs and gender of female with age of 57 could be a muscle spasm and age related articular degeneration or a recurrent UTI infection.

There is no harm in getting a urine routine exam to rule out UTI. Meanwhile take some advil and skelaxin and use warm compresses over the painful area, rest for a while,a void lifting heavy weight, maintain good posture, lie flat on semi hard surface.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and don't forget to close the discussion please.
