What Causes Radiating Pain Between Ear And Forehead?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Dec 2014
Question: Hello Dr. Siddiiqh,
This is a follow up query. I've on-off radiating pain from ear to forehead. I visited a ENT specialist. He asked me to get a CT scan - PNS.
CT Scan revealed that I have a
1. Deviated Nasal Septum
2. Mucosal polyp in the left maxiliary sinus.
The doctor suggested that I need to get the septum corrected as it was the main cause of the polyp formation and recurring headaches on the left side. He told that the polyp can be cured with medication.

I would like to take your opinion about this issue.

Brief Answer:
Go ahead for the surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

Thanks for considering my answer and for your follow up.

In my opinion, the combination (deviated nasal septum + polyp) compromises the airway, can cause chronic sinusitis (head-ache with nasal obstruction and recurrent ear pain with Eustachian dysfunction.

Do not worry, go ahead for the surgery. Its a simple procedure, solves all your interconnected ENT problems.

Wishing you good health. Take care.
