Question: Hi

Can anyone help me. I am an anxiety sufferer. One time a few years ago i got hit by a panic attack at cricket match since then it slowly stopped me playing.
As soon as i play a bit of sport my heart starts racing i feel like my heart will stop. I immediately stop and after some time i be ok? Do you think there is a issue with my heart? Why do i get a racing heart when i play a sport? I dont even exert my self.

Brief Answer:
I think this is related to anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,
Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

From the available description there is clear indication that it is due to anxiety. Racing of heart in particular situation indicates that you have associated with cricket ground as place of panic attacks due to earlier experience and this is leading to problems.

The chances of heart problem is very low if any as you had panic attacks in past and your age is quite low for heart ailments. Having said this to be safer side it will be appropriate to get one ECG from nearby health center.

This is best treated by behavior therapy which attempts to break association between two neutral things. I request you to see a psychiatrist/psychologist in your city.

Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
