What Causes Puss Discharge From The Lower Left Molar?

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Jul 2016
Question: I feel like there's a puss or some leakage from my lower left third molar. I feel a very bad taste when I put my tongue around this teeth. I showed it to a dentist once casually and he said he don't see anything such. There is no pain by the way. Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Seems like infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hi..
Welcome to HCM...

So sorry to hear about your problem and I will try my level best to resolve it to the best of my knowledge and experience..

As per your complain it seems that pus discharge or leakage from the lower left third molar area and bad taste on putting the tongue around the tooth is indicative of infection..
The gum flap that surrounds the third molar might be creating a pocket in between the tooth and the gum flap leading to food accumulation and bacterial overgrowth in that area..
It leads to pus discharge and bad taste in mouth..
I would suggest you to start gargling with warm saline solution.
Gargle with betadine mouthwash..
Avoid food accumulation in that area and gargle after you eat anything..

In case if it still does not get resolved in a week to ten days consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can advise you an x ray of the tooth...
At times the gum flap is removed by a minor surgical procedure under local anaesthesia..
Or even removal/ extraction of wisdom tooth can be done for permanent resolution..

Any further questions are welcome...

Hope this information helps..

Regards..
