What Causes Profuse Bleeding From Vein With Mild Nausea And Stomach Pain?

default
Posted on Tue, 20 Oct 2015
Question: I am taking Norco 7,5/325 for quite some time 4-5 pills a day. Last week got depressed and for two days was drinking red wine - one bottle throughout day. Last Friday a blood vessel burst on my hand and it took me long time to stop bleeding. Same day got blood test from vein and it was also bleeding. No blood thinners. Fluconazole 200 mg a day and Amox tr-k clv. Never had bleeding problem before. Have mild nausea, dull pain in right side of belly. No jaundice or headache. Does it mean I got poisoned by Tylenol?

In a few days I will have surgery

Brief Answer:
Bleeding diathesis, work up and management

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic.

Seems that you have blood clotting disorder. You need to have blood tests for clotting profile including PT, apTT, INR, Bleeding time and complete blood count for platelets number as these all will let your doctor find the cause for the prolonged bleeding diathesis, because with such symptoms surgery can't be performed even if it is of eyes as in your case.

The relation with Tylenol with prolonged bleeding is not direct but is through liver functions, and right sided belly pain with such symptoms and history of alcohol needs evaluation of liver functions and ultrasound abdomen.

Hoping you a speedy recovery. If you dont have more questions, kindly close the discussion. Regards.
