default
Posted on Sat, 28 Jan 2017
Question: I feeling pressure in my left, lower abdomen; feels like a dull tooth ache -- have had this sensation for the past 10 days. Sometime, when I sit for long periods, the discomfort goes down to my groin area. No digestive problems -- no vomiting, no constipation, no loss of appetite. Area is NOT tender; is not sensitive to touch. Feel most comfortable when lying down. Had laproscopic double hernia surgery last February. No post op complications.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. I read your question and i understand your concern. Abdominal discomfort with pressure and with no prior history of gastric discomfort, bowel movement disorder or constipation with no tenderness on touch or no loss of appetite and history of hernia repair last year is likely a spasmodic pain of viscera or muscle spasm in abdominal muscles likely due to mesh placed for hernia repair. pain radiating to groin on prolonged sitting and relieved by lying down makes it muscle spasm mor elikely with hernia repair , a sequelae almost inevitable and nothing to worry about. All you need is some tylenol, some antispasmodics, and rest and see if it helps. Along with it, small frequent meals, use of yogurt and peppermint, avoiding triggers in diet like alcohol, soda , beverages, coffee, tea , spicy and dairy foods etc will help. If the issue persists or pain worsens, visit your doctor nearby, let them run some labs and assess the possible cause for the pain.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

Khan
