What Causes Pressure Between The Eyes On The Forehead And Headache?

default
Posted on Mon, 21 Jul 2014
Question: I don't know if I have a sinus infection. I have pressure between the eyes on the forehead, a headache but no other symptoms; no cold or sore throat or green mucous. Yesterday I became very red and hot for a while and blood pressure was sky high.It settled down in 3 hours. Two days before this all my teeth on the left side hurt, bad headache and blood pressure very high. Next day symptoms subsided. Today I have aching in the sinuses and a headache. Is it a sinus infection?

Brief Answer:
Hypertensive encephalopathy...

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

According to your symptoms I can say that it isn't a sinus infection, but it is Hypertensive encephalopathy.
This disease is caused by high blood pressure.

To avoid those symptoms you should keep your blood pressure in normal range by taking a proper treatment.

The following tests are necessary for the diagnosis:
- Electrocardiogram to check heart electrical activity.
- Electroencephalography.
- Chest X-ray.
- Complete blood count.
- Lipid blood test to check cholesterol level.

You should contact your cardiologist and your neurologist to confirm the diagnosis and to discuss about the treatment.

I hope I answered your query.

Ask me for anything unclear.

All the best.
Dr. Behar.

I will follow the recommendations but in the meantime I increased my medications and all symptoms disappeared. Blood pressure is steadily normal.
Hyzaar 50/12.5 mg. and Norvasc 5mg This is the new dosage.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms are disappeared because BP is normal...

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thank you for writing back.

All symptoms are disappeared because your blood pressure is normal now. This means that your symptoms are caused by high blood pressure.

Now that you increased the dosage of medicines, you should check your blood pressure every day for 15 days. This is to avoid hypotension(low blood pressure).

If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer.

Wish you good health.
Dr. Behar.
